DR. AUDREY CHIEN, PT, DPT, MS, ATC, AIT

Dr. Audrey Chien, PT, DPT, MS, ATC, AIT graduated with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California, Master’s of Science in Biokinesiology from the University of Southern California, and her Bachelor’s of Science in Athletic Training from Loyola Marymount University.
She brings over 12 years of experience in sports medicine, rehabilitation, injury prevention, and strength and conditioning, to her patients and clients.

Sports medicine:
AVP tour - pro beach volleyball
Div I sports - volleyball, baseball, swimming, water polo, soccer
WTA tour - professional and amateur tennis
Olympic/Paralympic athletes - beach volleyball, tennis, track & field
Amputee rehabilitation and conditioning:
Adaptive athletes - track and field, cyclists, swimmers
Amputations and limb loss patients from all walks of life and at all stages of rehabilitation

Her treatment approach centers around returning patients and clients back to the activity they love or want to achieve, by using an education-based and mission-driven approach. This requires teaching the patient to be self-sufficient in order to continue to grow outside of formal treatment. Treatment is focused on an individual’s biomechanics, which gear towards successful learning and performance in order to progress to independence.
Other fun facts:
Audrey was a former NCAA Division I water polo player at Loyola Marymount University, and continues to play in the master’s divisions for national and international tournaments.
She also loves to attend and organize adaptive sport/fitness events, working with the Adaptive Athletics Foundation of Maryland to host adaptive training and fitness workshops across the DMV area.
She also continues to work closely with international NGO’s regarding rehabilitation needs and improved integration of physiotherapy into hospital systems.
